Vintage Valentine Postcards…

Below is a link to a few vintage postcards from my personal stash. Just click on the link, then click on open pdf. There you will find 7 images for you to use.

I love to use postcards as accents in projects or stick them here and there around the house as decorations. They look cute tucked in the side of a frame or mirror, they make sweet tags to adorn a Valentine treat and strung together using baker’s twine or seam binding will make a simple garland as in bygone days.

I’m sure you will come up with some wonderful ideas which I can’t wait to see. Don’t forget to post your projects in the gallery as I will be giving away a RAK containing some wonderful Maya Road goodies… my little Cupid (Santa has a side job) will be picking out a winner on the 31st.

Vintage Valentines…

These sweet valentine cards were given to Purell Williams as stated on the back from several of his classmates… Barney, Mary, Harold, Emory and Hugh. I can only imagine the excitement these school kids had while sharing their Valentines. Inside the card given by Mary reads…

I can only imagine the gasp heard all around on the playground.!

Vintage Valentines…

These valentines were given to Purell from Mary Elizabeth and Paul with a simple little greeting of “Be my Valentine.” I love the outer edge on each card. They are cut so beautifully. I think accenting these with glitter or Stickles would make a gorgeous valentine.

Although I must admit, each time I look at the one of the little boy it makes me think he might have just eaten his special Valentine’s box of candy or at least sampled a few of the sweets inside. To me he looks so mischievous.

These valentines are from Harriette, Meribal, Maynard and Carlie. I think Carlie and Meribal might have a little crush on Purell… here is what their valentines say…

Meribal… I’m hopin’ and I’m wishin’ too for one word ~ can’t you guess? When I say, “Be my Valentine!” that you will answer ~ YES!

Carlie… I love you every single day a lot more than you think and if you’ll be my Valentine I’ll just be tickled pink.

I wonder who was able to tug on Purell’s heart strings the most and win him over?

In this set of valentines one comes with a warning. The one that reads “My Heart’s Message” on the front states inside in bright bold red…
